Mrs. Isabelle Griesmyer
Isabelle Griesmyer lives with her husband in Charlotte, NC. She has an undergraduate degree in home economics with a concentration in interior design and art and an MBA in finance. Later on she enriched her art education with additional courses and workshops in art, photography, graphic art and calligraphy, and painting. Isabelle’s teaching experiences include teaching adult and children at conferences, community schools and art camps. She taught art and calligraphy to children at the art school affiliated with the Austin Museum of Art in Austin TX. While living in Corning NY she enjoyed teaching art to children out of her home. At the Corning Museum of Glass, she taught drawing to museum visitors through their Draw and Discover program. During her time in Austin and Corning, Isabelle was a docent at the Austin Museum of Art and the Rockwell Museum of Western Art, respectively. She likes teaching out of her home and in the community.
Mrs. Kem Harold
Kem Harold is the wife of David Harold and mother of 4 children. She graduated from Lenoir Rhyne College with a degree in Intermediate Education with a concentation in Social Studies and Language Arts. After teaching in the classroom for 7 years, Kem decided to homeschool her oldest two which were in 2 and 4th grades. She has been homeschooling for 19 years. Kem's hobbies include scrapbooking, reading and biking with husband, David.
Mr. Kelly Lowder
Guitar and Drums
Kelly Lowder is a seasoned musician and music educator based out of Kannapolis, NC with more than ten years experience as a private music instructor and fourteen years experience as a live performer. He began playing the guitar at age eight after his Grandpa gave him an acoustic and taught him the basic chords. After the death of his Grandpa less than a year later, Kelly continued learning the guitar on his own. At the age of fourteen, Kelly’s parents gave him his first bass guitar that soon became one of his favorite instruments to play. Kelly’s playing has been on national television including INSP and FOX, and has been on radio stations across the U.S. He has performed with multiple local and regional bands on the stage and in the studio, with credits as guitarist, bassist, drummer, lyricist, and songwriter. His performance credits include live shows across the country with his former original band playing some of the biggest music festivals in the U.S. like Cornerstone, and Xtreme, and opening for major label acts such as Third Day, Skillet, Pillar, Kutless, and DC Talk.
Mrs. Terry Moore
American Sign Language
Terry Moore is a Certified Early Childhood Educator and Homeschool mom, She has studied American Sign Language with Michigan State University. Terry has been teaching ASL at The Homeschool Room in Matthews for the past 3 years, and at Full Circle Academy for the past 2 years, she has taught ASL as a Foreign Language Course, and for parents and children wanting to learn ASL. Terry has worked with children and adults in her church, as well as other churches, teaching sign language. She is eager to share the valuable and rewarding skills of signing with your children. Terry and her daughter live in Locust, NC
Mrs. Mary Snow
Bible, History, Math
Mary Snow holds a BRE degree along with a degree in Bible. She taught preschool for 8 years while living in Chattanooga Tenn. She has taught third grade (all subjects) for the past eleven years while living here in the Charlotte area. She loves to create a fun teaching environment with as much hands on as possible. Her hands on technique enables the children to recall the material learned. Mary is excited to work with Full Circle Students this year teaching Bible, History and Math.
Mrs. Liyan Yu
Liyan graduated from Osaka International University in Japan with a M.S. degree in Graduate School of Management and Information Science. During the time of study in graduate school, she had been working as a Part-time Lecturer at Berlitz Japan, Inc. and later on at Osaka Kun-Ei Women’s College in Japan. She gained a lot of experience and skills of teaching Chinese to the foreigners. She enjoyed teaching people with different ages, various learning experiences in either small or large class setting. After graduation, Berlitz Japan, Inc. offered she moved to USA in 2006. In 2011, she got an opportunity to teach again as a Chinese Teacher at Chinese Language and Art School in Cabarrus Chinese American Association.
Liyan believes the best way to help people learn a new language is the same way they learned their native language – naturally. That is very critical for teaching and the way she has tried to incorporate it into daily teaching practice. She believes her working experience and education background will help the kids at Full Circle Academy learn Chinese Language, which will be beneficial for their future.
